Hi, I’m Aleia—wax artist, maker, mom of four, and the founder of That Dope Soap & Candle Co. My journey into creating luxury, handcrafted self-care goods started during the stillness of the COVID-19 lockdown—a time when the world paused, and I felt called to bring peace, beauty, and healing into people’s homes through scent and simplicity.

What began as a creative escape has now grown into a passion-fueled small business rooted in intention, artistry, and sustainability.

That Dope Soap & Candle Co. is more than just a name—it’s a vibe. My mission is to offer high-quality, handcrafted products that help you slow down and reconnect with yourself. Each candle and soap is made with love and purpose using natural, skin-safe ingredients, clean fragrance oils, locally grown botanicals, and upcycled vintage vessels that are as collectible as they are functional. Many of my candles are refillable because I believe in beautiful sustainability—reusing what we have while still celebrating the luxury of indulgence.

Why Vintage?

I’ve always had an eye for beauty in the forgotten and the timeless. I source most of my candle vessels from thrift stores, estate sales, and local vintage shops. From delicate teacups to cut glass candy bowls, every container has a past—and I love giving them a new life and purpose. It’s a creative process that’s good for the planet and your soul.
